I am exceptionally excited to chat with: Heather Greene about the role of the Witch in American TV/Movies! Her book: Lights, Camera, Witchcraft: A Critical History of Witchcraft in American Film and Television explores the evolution of Witch roles as they are portrayed throughout the decades in Movies/TV/Hollywood and viewed through the lens of socio/cultural, historical and political influences since the late 1800s up to 2020. We also converse about the types of Witch roles in American cinema ranging from Samantha in "Bewitched", Morticia in "The Addams Family" , the Wicked Witch of the West in "The Wizard of Oz", the young witches in "The Craft" etc. We also discuss how TV/Movie Witch archetypes mirror the plight of the American woman and how each of these Witch characters often act as mirrors to where women are at in society at the time they were created!
