In today's episode, we explore the booming economy of the Dominican Republic. With impressive growth and increasing foreign investment, the DR has become a hotspot for investors and tourists alike.
The Dominican Republic broke its foreign investment record with over $4 billion in 2022 and nearly $4.4 billion in 2023. Investments are pouring into real estate, commerce, tourism, energy, and mining, with significant contributions from the US, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Panama, and France.
We dive into the tourism sector, which saw 8 million visitors last year and is expected to reach close to 10 million this year. Additionally, we discuss the rapid development in the energy sector, including the $110 million Monte Plata solar energy park.
