What comes to mind when you hear the words “Bible study” . . . Boring? Intimidating?Confusing?Studying the Bible doesn’t have to be complicated or stressful. In this podcast, Lee and Robbie share a simple, four-step plan for studying the Bible that you can use on your own and with your group to align yourselves with truth and live as fully alive men.

Main Ideas

  • Most guys know we should read our Bibles; we just don’t know the best way.
  • Spiritual maturity is not directly related to how many times you’ve read the Bible and prayed this week.
  • A simple four-step plan for studying the Bible is: PRAY, READ, THINK, APPLY.
  • PRAY – “Lord, teach me.”
  • READ the passage aloud as a group.
  • THINK about what stood out to you in this passage and what the context was.
  • APPLY what you read by asking yourself, “What am I going to do about this?”

Discussion Questions

  • What was your favorite bible story growing up? Why do you think that one stands out?Let’s be honest. What are some of the hurdles you have to reading scripture more?
  • Have you ever read anything in the Bible that challenged an aspect of your beliefs or actions?
  • What is your plan for tackling a book of the bible (or topic) on your own or with your group?

The Big Three

What does this mean for me personally?

What am I going to do about it? What step of faith is God inviting me to take?

How can we help?
