Insurrection! With deadlock paralysing the Convention, and the Commission of Twelve provoking the radicals of Paris, another journée consumed the capital. With the establishment of the Central Revolutionary Committee and the Évêché Assembly, the sections of Paris led a new uprising against the national representation. The Insurrection of 31 May 1793 consumed the French Revolution, but it didn't have the results many might expect. Furthermore, despite the appearances of a united front, the revolutionary cohorts of Paris were heavily divided as the Enragés (Enraged) and the Jaocbins jockeyed for supremacy.

1. "The Madness and Controversy of Maximin Isnard" - The speech of a madman, or an overblown affair? This Episode Extra unpacks the reactions and controversies surrounding Isnard's infamous threats against the people of Paris in May 1793.
