The Consequences of Allowing And Providing Easy Access of Our Personal Information To Our Employers through Social Media. Most - if not - all employers frequently visit the social media accounts of their employees. Employers will visit your social media accounts and vet you regularly on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to see what you're up to so that they have a reason to deny you a promotion or raise. Or use that as one of many excuses to fire you when you become a liability to them. They will check-up from time to time to make sure you're not a racist, a sexist, a stalker, or badmouthing your employers to cover their asses. Jason Cousineau and Eric Renderking Fisk discuss this phenomenon and what you can and should do about it beyond just watching what you post online.
