The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Allison Skinner-Dorkenoo. A professor in the University of Georgiaâs department of psychology, Dr. Skinner-Dorkenoo examines the psychology of âbiasâ and âprejudiceâ and how this thinking can be undone. Gus was intrigued when hearing about her report investigating White attitudes about Covid-19 once the racial disparities of the virus's spread were highlighted. White support of social distancing, masks and staying home drastically waned as did their overall fear of the coronavirus. Weâll also discuss a related study which examines the medical notion of ârace correction,â where White medical officials make decisions about treatments and diagnoses that vary according to the racial classification of the patient. These âcorrectionsâ mean black people receive less pain medication and organ transplants, and are considered intellectually inferior as it relates to their White counterparts. Dr. Skinner told us none of these "corrections" harm White patients. It seems to Gus what undergirds all of these problems is White peopleâs collective dedication to the practice of White Supremacy/Racism. The C.O.W.S. recently discussed some of these very concepts with Dr. Jennifer Tsai and Professor Dorothy Roberts. Importantly, We we made time to discuss a talk Dr. Skinner co-presented investigating White responses to so-called "interracial marriage." Their research showed White rage with the prospects of black people marrying White people. Dr. Frances Cress Welsing and Dylann Storm Roof told us about this previously. #VictimsOfRacismDoNotQualifyForHealth #TheCOWS15Years INVEST in The COWS â http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#
