Today’s guest is Candace Blankenship, RN, BSN, CCDS, who is a CDI consultant. Today’s show is part of the “Talking CDI” series. In every episode of this series, ACDIS Director of Programming Rebecca Hendren is joined by a guest, such as a member of the ACDIS Advisory Board, or one of our expert Boot Camp instructors, or an expert on a particular area to discuss a topic pertinent to today’s CDI profession. During today’s episode, Blankenship recommended that listeners reach out to the National Uniform Billing Committee (NUBC) to express concerns over the limitations of the current UB-04 form. Find all the information about contacting the NUBC at https://www.nubc.org/nubc-contact-us. Blankenship also referenced data suggesting that up to 80%-90% of health outcomes are determined by SDOH. That study can be found at https://nam.edu/social-determinants-of-health-101-for-health-care-five-plus-five/. Our intro and outro music for the ACDIS Podcast is “medianoche” by Dee Yan-Kay and our ad music is “Take Me Higher” by Jahzzar, both obtained from the Free Music Archive. Have questions about today’s show or ideas for a future episode? Contact the ACDIS team at info@acdis.org.
