During the U.S. election last fall, tech giants hosting user-generated content finally felt they had to take action against the misinformation being hosted on their platforms. That lead to other lesser-known platforms courting the banned users as a strategy to increase their user base and overall audience. What are the risks of misinformation gaining a new foothold on the Internet when it's so important that a majority of our population opt into receiving the COVID-19 vaccine to end the pandemic?
