Recent changes to the Tax Agent Services Act 2009, including via the Minister's recent Determination, have caused angst, fear, and anxiety amongst the tax and accounting profession. I'm here to say a fair chunk of that is exaggerated. Let's be practical. Although you'll need to make changes to the way you do things, most of the changes will ultimately be for the better. There are 2 or 3 problematic areas which need to be clarified, and I am confident that will come with time. In so far as anyone gets caught up in these new rules, I am here to help. You don't need to go it alone if you end up under some form of disciplinary action. And finally, the Board can't just deregister you. If they try that on, give me a call.
