Private and public partnerships are critical to incentivize climate action. And a fossil-fuel phase-out needs to be our new North Star. On the back of a confusing COP28, the fossil fuel industry and many communications agencies were called out for playing both sides of the climate game - announcing sustainability agendas while representing corporate interests that threaten the planet, prosperity and global stability. What will it take to move our planet away from a reliance on dirty energy? Advocate-activist Tzeporah Berman isn't afraid to call out conflicts of interest; while Ceres’ Mindy Lubber is working to catalyze businesses to support a fossil fuel phase-out and embrace clean solutions. With over 600,000 signatures and key endorsements from the tiny nation of Vanuatu and fossil-fuel dependent Colombia, can Berman’s Treaty rally a phase-out? What contents and campaigns can activate generations? And can we hold corporate and government leaders accountable? You’ll leave this session better able to see through the fossil fuel smokescreen, with a sense of urgency to go from climate rhetoric to climate action. Participants: Mindy Lubber; Tzeporah Berman; Elliot Kotek; Aaron Pickering
