Award-winning Journalist Andrew Harding has reported on some of the most pivotal moments in history over the past three decades. From the end of Soviet Russia to Al Shabab militants in Somalia, his reporting has borne witness to stories that have changed our modern world.

So why would Harding turn his focus in his latest book, to a small town outside the city of Johannesburg in South Africa, called Parys? To an trial where white farmers stood accused of being involved in the murder of two Black farm workers?

In this episode of Storyteller, Andrew Harding tells host Lisa Golden about the story that captured his curiosity in 2016, leading all the way to the present day where no one has been held accountable for the deaths of Samuel Tjixa and Simon Jubeba.

They discuss narrative nonfiction and true crime, what it means to be a foreign correspondent in 2020 and the role of outsiders in journalism.
