If you have been shooting videos for your business by yourself, I have a question for you: Do you have a passion to be a professional videographer or do you have a passion to share your message? The one only you can share? I wanted to bring on a very talented videographer and editor to talk about what a professional video shoot looks like, how you plan for it and when you know you’re ready to hire. He is Chris Lane and he is a videographer and editor based in Virginia Beach. We are on the same page, that when you start creating videos, you typically don’t need to start with a video production company. There are so many things you can work on on your own time. Your message, your energy, your video style. As you listen to this, I want you to think about the time you are spending. In the beginning, as you are trying to figure out your messaging, your market and your products, it’s perfectly fine to use your smartphone and basic editing skills for your videos. But when you start focusing so much on the shooting and editing because you want it to start looking better, when you are spending sooo much time on the technical aspects of the shoot when you really should be talking to clients or actually getting that content into the hands of the people who need to see it, that’s when you have to start thinking about outsourcing. That’s when you think about getting some help either with shooting your videos, editing your videos, or both. Time is money in business. When you are spending so much time on putting the videos together that you are losing money-making opportunities, that’s when you should think about hiring out. If you are interested in talking about your particular video strategy, I would love to walk you through a plan to help you successfully use videos in your business.
