Is Genesis meant to be taken literally? Or is just made-up ancient myth? On this episode we interview C. John (Jack) Collins about his book 'Reading Genesis Well'. We talk about what kind of literature Genesis is, how it compares to other ancient origins stories, and how all this impacts our understanding of Genesis 1-3.

C. John Collins is Professor of Old Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary in St Louis, Missouri. He was Old Testament Chairman for the English Standard Version of the Bible, and is author of Science and Faith: Friends or Foes? (2003), Did Adam and Eve Really Exist?: Who They Were and Why You Should Care (2011), and Reading Genesis Well: Navigating History, Poetry, Science, and Truth in Genesis 1–11 (2018).
