Turns out that Al Pacino really hit the ground running in his acting career. The Godfather was his second staring role, followed closely by Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon, but even in his first starring role in The Panic In Needle Park he really establishes himself as one of America’s greatest. And that’s not to mention everyone else’s fine performances. But this film about heroin addicts in New York is certainly not for everyone and is certainly not intended to entertain.
