The family is a system, and if one part is not working well, then all the other parts become strained. Parenting is meant to be a team activity, still many carry the weight of the full team. A respectful, and successful co-parenting relationship, whether for parents who live together or not, is critical to the health of the child. Beliefs matter - always assume that Black dads are interested and want to be involved.
