For more information on this episode, please click here: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Joy-in-serving-others-.html?soid=1134023763267&aid=5wnSX5hP78k ORH is thankful for those who give the Gospel while attempting to lift people out of the sadness of losing all material goods. They have lost objects and media that attach them to many family memories. At the time of such great loss the church worker acquaints them with the greatest family, the family of God. Lancaster Baptist Church put forth such an effort under the direction of their outreach pastor, Jerry Ferrso. Here is his report. "We had at least 11 people saved. Still collecting decision cards. This is what we passed out: 1,000 lunch bags (600 bags were passed out at the evacuation line); 250 bags of dry goods; we served 250 hot meals. "There was one lady in late 60's or early 70's, and she lost everything. She got saved today. I would believe she would be one person I would suggest helping in a greater way. I'm not sure what your parameters are for her situation.... But thank you for partnering with us...a lot of ministry took place today! " Thank you Pastor Ferrso for your hard work. Organizing the people, meals, and relief supplies for a 1.5-hour trip to serve others while giving the gospel is heart-stirring. ORH is thankful to be a part of such gospel effort. You are talking to the mayor of a remote fishing village on the Panama Canal. You have one medical person with you to care for your team. Yet he asks you to return to help his people who need a whole team of doctors, nurses and dentists to provide medical and dental care. What would you do? How would you face the unknown by faith? In this episode, we learn more about how Operation Renewed Hope began conducting medical mission trips. In the last episode, we heard about a church in Fayetteville, North Carolina that conducted a sports clinic in Panama after the fall of the Noriega regime. During that sports trip, they became aware of the serious health needs among the villagers in Arenosa, Panama. To the best of their knowledge, the team only had one medical professional who could help them miniter to those health needs. But as we shall see, the Lord provided more than they could possibly imagine for their next trip. 34 years later, ORH is still conducting medical mission trips including a recent trip to a remote region of Uganda and an upcoming trip to the Cape Verde islands off the west coast of Africa. Thanks for listening to Stories of Hope and Help! In this episode, we continue our discussion of how Operation Renewed Hope responded to help those in Sumatra and Indonesia who were devastated by the earthquake and tsunami. On December 26, 2004, a devastating 9.3 M earthquake struck near Sumatra. The resulting tsunami killed 230,000 people in 15 nations surrounding Sumatra. As you listen, ask yourself how you would respond to a disaster of this magnitude? Acts 11:19-30 describes the remarkable work of God in the church at Antioch (in Syria, now modern day Turkey). In a relatively short period, the church produced dynamic disciples who were able to respond to an impending disaster. The island of Nias in norther Sumatra was the focal point of our relief efforts, and as a result a gospel-preaching church was strengthened on Nias.…

In this episode, Jan Milton tells us more about the medical mission trip conducted by Operation Renewed Hope to a remote region of Ghana in 2021. During our conversation, Jan told us about the church that has been planted in the village as a direct result of the medical clinic. He also told us about the protocol of how he met the tribal chief over the area. The picture we posted on this episode shows him standing with the tribal chief. In 2021, even with all the travel restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Lord allowed us to field a medical mission team in Ghana. People came to the Lord during those clinics, and as a result, a church was planted in that area. Jan Milton describes the way we saw God at work in this African nation.
