In this episode, we spoke with Cecilia Li from the SFUSD Educational Placement Center, who helps families navigate the student assignment system. We also hear a Chinese immigrant parent who lives in San Francisco, about her experience enrolling her daughter into public schools. We explain the current student assignment policy in SF, discuss the major challenges facing immigrant parents, and outline what factors parents should consider when choosing schools. Additionally, we discuss the importance of diversity and immigrant family support in San Francisco public schools.
