A strange man hires a private detective to find the Martian Embassy, which is hidden somewhere in New York. There is a man loitering outside the Broderick Private Detective Agency. He looks strange, but very intelligent, like a professor. His name is Mr. Grapheus, and he has come to New York to locate the Martian Embassy and the agents of the government of the planet Mars. Broderick obviously believes him to be a crackpot, until he hands him a document, an authentic 5th century note
