S2E32: Release the grip: A conversation about control and eating disorders
Manage episode 433813924 series 3560848
What do you do when you feel unsafe? Our brains are wired for safety. When safety decresese, desire for control increases. Eventually, we can find ourselves trying to control relationships, outcomes, effort... and we wonder why we are so tired. " Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2. If our brains are wired for safety, we have to renew our thoughts daily to remember who God is, how He feels about us and why we can trust Him. What's the antidote to control? Trust. In the areas you know you are full on control-freaking: How can you choose to trust God more? Listen in our conversations about how control has taken over our lives in the past. We pray you are blessed by this conversation.
