Sisters Who Sarcast
Manage episode 411947681 series 3560108
Courtney and Whitney may have met their sarcastic match on this weeks episode of Hey Sis, Eat This. Kathy, host of the Women Who Sarcast Podcast and her equally hilarious sister, Chris, join us to talk about their childhood of games, pranks and favorite dishes while celebrating the also very sarcastic and mom of 6, Momma Nancy.
Growing up in the small town of Ticonderoga NY, pop. 3000, Momma Nancy ran a tight ship for this family of 8. Kathy and Chris share insights into the chaos and camaraderie that defined their childhood. Nancy kept the house in running order with her “wheel of chores,” infamously large Lazy Susan that helped serve dinner and homemade board games to keep the large brood entertained.
The sisters pay tribute to their mother's no-nonsense attitude, which instilled values of respect and kindness in their upbringing. When one of the siblings stepped out of line, all it took was “that look” from Momma Nancy to know she wasn’t going to put up with their antics.
The creative Momma Nancy, not only made homemade games, but sewed the family’s clothes and reupholstered the family lazy boys multiple times. This jack-of-all-trades, big hearted momma worked tirelessly to make holidays memorable had an open door policy with all the neighbor kids. She embodied love, laughter and of course a bit of sarcasm in all that she did and we say HOORAY to Momma Nancy and Happy 90th Birthday, Lady!!
