Manage episode 407112927 series 3557896
In today’s episode, Whitney connects with Sara Dykman to discuss her book, “Bicycling with Butterflies.” Sarah, an amphibian biologist, educator and writer, shares her inspiring journey of pedaling more than 10,000 miles alongside monarch butterflies during their epic migration across three countries.
Sara set out solo, riding a bike she put together from spare parts, with a mission to raise awareness of the plight of the monarchs. What she didn’t expect were the experiences, relationships and lessons that unfolded on her ride.
Here’s what to look forward to in today’s episode
- The Wing-it attitude
- Sara’s thoughts on resiliency and mindset shifts when life hands us set-backs
- Two very important notes Sara kept on her handlebars for when things got heavy - and how they can inspire your own
- The benefits of untamed spaces, giving space back to nature, wild native landscapes, butterfly gardens, and native plants for monarchs
- The gift biking offers
- One question women could be asking themselves more: Are you trying? If someone who hasn’t been born yet asks what you did, can you say I tried?
