Shigeki Sugii and Mandy Hon join us to share the founding story of ImpacFat. ImpacFat is a food tech company, looking to revolutionize the core-source of fish fat. Founded out of the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), A*STAR in Singapore, they cultivate cell-based fish fat in a controlled environment. The lab grown fish fat has zero pathogens, zero microplastics and much less heavy metal than those found in the wild. It can be used as a food ingredient, nutritional supplement and in cosmetic products.
