Manage episode 438103120 series 3457789
Kyanna Simone joins Kyle Meredith to talk about the new Hulu movie The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat. Listen to Kyanna Simone discuss the film.
Based off Edward Kelsey Moore’s bestselling novel, The Supremes follows the trio of women as they navigate life's joys and challenges across two generations. Simone talks about working in a period piece set in the 1960s, the importance of platonic friendships that the film portrays, and why she trained to be a boxer.
The actress also touches on playing the younger version of the character Odette as Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor played the adult version, a type of role sharing Simone is familiar with after having played younger versions of Oprah and Octavia Spencer's respective characters in The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and Ma.
