Welcome to The Intentional Fundraiser Podcast. I'm your host, Tammy Zonker, and I'm thrilled you're here. I've spent nearly three decades specializing in major gifts. I’ve seen how major gifts often form the backbone of an organization’s financial stability, and yet, I know many of us find this area particularly challenging. In my latest episode of The Intentional Fundraiser, I dive deep into a trend that's quietly reshaping philanthropy — the Silent Revolution of Anonymous Giving. Imagine receiving a six-figure donation, only to discover it comes from 'Anonymous.' Exciting, right? But how do we express gratitude and demonstrate impact when we can’t even name our benefactor? 🤔 I share a story from my time working with a mid-size organization in Detroit that faced this very challenge. Their initial joy turned to uncertainty when they received a $500,000 anonymous gift. Together, we crafted creative strategies that not only honored donor privacy but also fostered deeper connections and trust. What if the future of fundraising isn't about names on walls but about the profound impact we create together? 🌍 Join me as I explore actionable tips for embracing this new landscape and ensuring every gift—named or unnamed—is celebrated for its impact. 👉 Tune in now and let’s transform your fundraising approach! Ever felt like you're wearing a mask in your fundraising role? I have. In my recent chat with Mallory Erickson , we pulled back the curtain on the real struggles and triumphs of nonprofit professionals. From battling burnout to embracing alignment, we dove deep into the heart of what makes fundraising both challenging and rewarding. Mallory shared several practical strategies that we can implement immediately: Cultivate curiosity: When faced with resistance or fear, get curious about where those feelings are coming from. This can help create space for new possibilities. Acknowledge discomfort: Recognize that feeling uncomfortable is normal in fundraising. Not all discomfort is bad – sometimes it's a sign we're growing or staying true to our values. Focus on removing barriers: Instead of always trying to add new strategies, look at what's holding you back and work on removing those obstacles. Prioritize and focus: Mallory shared how she grew fundraising by 10 times in six months by focusing intensely on one area (corporate partnerships) rather than trying to do everything at once. What if I told you that your fundraising fears are not only normal but could be the key to unlocking your potential? Listen to this juicy episode and then share it with everyone.
