Aaron Shkuda, the author of The Lofts of Soho: Gentrification, Art, and Industry in New York, shares the dramatic story of how Soho became Soho, one of the most iconic neighborhoods in Manhattan. With its quaint cobble stone streets, unique collection of cast iron buildings and sophisticated blend of fashion, art and business, it is hard to imagine Soho, as it once was - an industrial neighborhood dubbed “Hell’s Hundred Acres.”
