Ten years ago, our podcasts were released on iTunes. We’ve had many requests from listeners who didn’t use iTunes, saying they would like to hear early shows not available on any of the music sites we published on now (Soundcloud is popular). Your voices have been answered with the very first edition. Over time we will bring the missing podcasts up to date on those websites. Sequences was born out of the demise of the very first UK Electronic music audio magazine, Inkeys and the short-lived Syntrax and became a major UK electronic music magazine. Formed in 1991 as an audio cassette and no 14 to the finale issue in 2009, no 32 as a printed magazine/CD. In 2012 we published our podcasts on the internet, beginning with a nostalgic look at musicians featured on our CDs, which came with every issue of the printed magazines and not forgetting our early cassette tapes. Each edition was available on iTunes monthly. To date, this has increased nine more music sites, including Soundcloud, Player FM, Listennotes, Amazon Music, Modul 303 etc. Two editions each month, approx 3 hours per episode, including bio pages from no 30 as downloadable PDFs and in later editions, we featured an influential artist/group in one-off specials. Many of the tracks on this first edition from Steve Roach, Paul Ellis, Gert Emmens, etc., were unreleased at that time, donated by the musicians from our tenth-anniversary edition of Sequences magazine no27. The music included classic tracks of a diverse collection of electronics, from the ambience of Solitaire & Daniel Hohl, the sequencer fest of Steve Roach & Gert Emmens to synth-rock of Greg Bredan & Paul Ward's stunning mini Moog solo. Apologies for not hearing the female tones of our digital girl in the intro. It’s a West Country accent I wouldn’t say I liked hearing from those early podcasts, no names mentioned. Mick (theEd) Playlist No 1 Intro Bas Broekhuis 01.26 Steve Roach ‘Sequences 1992’ ** 11.16 Paul Ellis ‘Slowly Boating Wings’ ** 17.42 Patchwork ‘Synthetic Nature' (album Patchwork) 25.30 Henric ‘Homicide 36 (dark version)' ** 28.24 Ron Boots, Alquimia & Mark Jenkins ‘Forgotten Memories’ ** 33.16 Gert Emmens ‘Gasphar’ ** 42.47 Greg Bredan ‘Earthrise’ ** 51.13 Solitaire ‘Mescalito Exit' (album Altered States) 57.50 Frank Quasar ‘Ouverture' (album Infinity) 01.03.43 Daniel Hohl ‘Atomsphere’ ** 01.10.11 Paul Ward ‘Scream in Darkness’ (Live at Breda 1991) ** Unreleased tracks
