For my 100th episode of this irreverent comedy interview podcast I wanted to do something special. At first I thought bringing a few of my favourite guests back to do a group episode might be fun, but then I thought of what has really driven my continued creation of this podcast. The SSP is built upon getting to know creators of all kinds that I consider incredibly interesting, and learning a plethora of intriguing insights about them through a one hour interview, peppered with savage questions and a freedom for finding the funny amidst all of that revelation. So I looked to my own YouTube viewing habits and reached out to one of my favourite creators on the platform, James Dancey aka The Right Opinion. TRO has been making well researched, devil's advocate verbal essays about the weird and wonderful world in which we live for a few years with varying success. In the past year his channel has grown at a rapid rate and he's now starting to enjoy the larger view counts to which his brilliant work should be entitled. Before he became so big he won't get out of bed for less than $10k, I decided to probe into his childhood, the method to his meticulous long format video essays, the reason for his switch from politics to pop culture icons and what it really means to garner success in the 21st century.
