In episode 5 of the Road to Open Science podcast we talk to Cameron Neylon. David Cameron Neylon is an advocate for open access and Professor of Research Communications at the Centre for Culture and Technology at Curtin University. From 2012 - 2015 he was the Advocacy Director at the Public Library of Science. Cameron is one of the four authors of The Panton Principles, a set of principles which were written to promote open science. In this converstaion, we focused on two of his recent papers. 1- “Excellence R Us”: university research and the fetishisation of excellence, and 2- Sustaining Scholarly Infrastructures through Collective Action.
