Well, if you have a red letter Bible, you’ll notice that the rest of Matthew chapter ten is all red. After commissioning the 12 Apostles, Jesus now provides instructions. He’s preparing to send them out on a short-term mission trip. These instructions are also found in Mark and Luke, but Matthew is the most detailed. Some of the instructions that Jesus provides are descriptive of what took place. Those instructions are only for the Apostles. Other instructions are prescriptive — meaning they are for every Disciple of Jesus — including me and you. How do we know the difference? Why is it important? And why do you care? Let’s find out!
