In this episode of Restarting America, Josh Gibbs from 97 Switch interviews Enjolik Oree-Bailey—otherwise known as Chef Jolie—the owner of Low Country Quisine. Throughout the interview, they discuss the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on business and society. Oree-Bailey shares how the current health pandemic has affected her company and how she is adapting to new circumstances. In 2007, Oree-Bailey decided to create Low Country Quisine. In the first year, she catered events on weekends while maintaining her corporate job in sales. Low Country Quisine became well-known throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex. It has regionally served many celebrities and influencers including nationally known radio personalities, Tom Joyner, Charlamagne Tha God, U.S. representatives, Colin Allred, John Lewis, and served as the official caterer for Jerry Jones and The Dallas Cowboys for more than two years. Fast forward, and Low Country Quisine is now celebrating 11 years in business full-time, with growth year-over-year, recently doubling the size of its commercial kitchen by adding eight new full-time employees in 2019. Low Country Quisine has become an industry-leading caterer well-known throughout Texas and the south-central region for their authentic approach to upscale Southern comfort food. Catering weddings, corporate events, high-profile parties, school events, and retirement community events, clients describe Low Country Quisine’s food as “food that tastes like Grandma’s recipes, with five-star presentation.” Oree-Bailey has been recognized for her superior cooking style in various media outlets, including Good Morning Texas and Good Day. Low Country Quisine was voted Wedding Wire’s Couple’s Choice and was highlighted in Best of The Knot Wedding Magazine.
