History isn’t over yet. It is not just the past but also the present and the future; the greatest story ever told – ever imaginable – as it is the sum and whole of all stories ever to be. This episode gives a brief (ahem) overview of world history, with a particular focus on Europe and the near East; vital knowledge for anyone who wants to know where they are and where they are going, wants to understand their true context in space and time. We also look at how and why things change in the world, giving history its momentum and flux. We look at the challenges presented by biased and incomplete information and how to approach historical sources so as to see clearly what is true, what is false and what is likely. You will also learn of the staggering revolution taking place in our understanding of the events of ‘prehistory’, and the increasingly strong evidence for a lost civilisation of great advancement, even up to the present day scoffed at by most mainstream historians. Most of all, I hope this episode gives you a sense of your own precious presence as an integral part of the flow of history – and your own power, opportunity and responsibility to be the change you want to see in this wonderful, chaotic, yet divinely ordered Earth in motion.
