In the hospital morgue, he injects the serum into a dead convict, who awakens and promptly kills the doctor. The convict then steals the doctor's "life giving solution" in order to inject other dead convicts and terrorize the city with his ghoulish gang. During their crime spree, The Shadow infiltrates the gang as a disguised dead convict named "Dutch Carson."
