Significant market consolidation has led to increased investor appetite and the emergence of a two-tier children’s day nursery market, with group operators on one end and family run operators on the other. One of the biggest changes the sector has seen with this consolidation has been through its holding structures. The growth of lease structures has brought in new types of investors, such as institutional investors who are attracted to this type of fixed income. There is also a clear trend towards sustainability, from both property and operational aspects.
