Her debut album This Is Niecy went platinum, rose to #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and spawned the single “Free”, which reached No. 2 on the Black Singles chart, No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 1 on the British Singles chart in 1976. In 1978, her duet with Johnny Mathis, “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late” made it to number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her album Let’s Hear It for the Boy went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
