“How you define it, determines how you approach it.”
- Dr. Tracie Keesee
Originally streamed on August 10, 2020, “Spotlight on Law Enforcement Anti-Bias Programs” features several high-profile guests to share their thoughts and experiences regarding the effectiveness and successes of national anti-bias programs adopted into various law enforcement agencies. The discussion focuses on implementing these programs, and the importance of knowing the difference between anti-bias and racism, what it means to know these terms while trying to improve the mindsets of law enforcement professionals.
Feedback on the program was positive and immediate, as staff at the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum heard from both law enforcement and civilian attendees, which numbered more than 3,000 in real time for the virtual event.
Part one of this Encore series begins with a question about what anti-bias training is, its effectiveness, and defining some key terms.
Part 2 of this series will air on June 14th.
