We continue our journey through the Gospel of Luke as we look at Luke 2:22-41 in a sermon called "Waiting." Here we meet two people, Simeon and Anna, who were eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come. While they waited, they faithfully lived in such a way that they relied on God and pointed to His sovereign glory in their lives. They are great examples of what waiting should look like in the Christian life. There are times we don't know what God will do or when he will act, but we can live faithfully and be ready for that moment. Because Simeon and Anna lived faithful lives waiting for the Messiah, they are able to see Jesus shortly after he is born and tell Joseph and Mary truths about their son, Jesus. Their words are recorded by Luke for us and teach us great things about our savior still today!
