Imagine you just survived a human trafficking scheme, only to find out you have thousands of dollars of debt, incurred in your name by your perpetrator.

Unfortunately, that is the reality affecting most human trafficking survivors.

As we mark World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Paula Laughlin the executive director of Victim Services of Kingston and Frontenac sheds some light on fraudulent debt.
