NLHFIYW International Radio Presents
Down the Memory Lane with Thumri Singer Lt. Maya Rani Ghosh (1924-2012).
She used to sing on All India Radio, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, during the early 1980s. A devotee of Sita Ram ji and Radha Krishna ji, she has spent a long time in Vrindavan where she sang in satsang at many temples to bring life into the evening aarti of the Radha Krishna ji. During her last days in Kolkata, India, she used to sit under a Lord Hanuman photo and sing songs which gave her youngest grandson, Noel Lorenz, the idea to record a few songs which led to this collection.
In 2008, at the age of 84 years, she recorded these songs on a simple tape recorder that Noel Lorenz had at that time.
Noel Lorenz wishes to bring out the full collection 13 years after she departed for her heavenly abode so that people can still find her songs and that this lively recording can be heard around the world by her family members and well-wishers.
