SHOW NOTES EPISODE 28: SPIRITUALITY & MONEY As a culture, as people, we are going through a lot of twists and turns, of how we think of ourselves globally, and spirituality. There is room for us to step up and grow up in order for us to be called into who we are meant to be. Why spiritual women of purpose are not having money. 7:20: Taught to do, do, do, do, not aren’t always how to be or how to have. 1. didn’t grow up having conversation about money that are positive 8:30 We start talking about how at times growing up demonstrates our view about money. 8:45 Connecting to religious organizations regardless of denomination. Sowed in a lot of negative feelings of wanting money. Common phrases such as, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” What is wrong with loving money? Who do you think she is? I can’t believe they’re spending money on that trip." 9:45 People can do what they want with their money and if we’re always judging people that have money and use money, what does that mean for us if we have that money, will we be under that same judgment? REFLECTION ON MONEY AND SPIRITUALITY Some highlights of this conversation with Tai was how religion plays a huge role in our money rules. For example, a common belief is that "Money belief is the root of all evil." But is it really? What about the money that supports non profit organizations, building new schools, purchasing new supplies for a healthcare facility. One belief I had that I thought was rich people were snobby people. But only because I had experiences where I felt that they were snobby. One of the ways to change belief is to actually surround yourself with wealthy people that are doing good around their community and city.
