In this episode, we will be talking about a relevant topic and a false stereotypical perception of what is right or wrong. Growing up as a beautiful brown skin girl, I have always noticed the favor or approval of an African American with lighter caramel skin versus the side-eyes of someone with dark skin. This perception has never affected me but I have seen first hand the effects of prejudice words and lack of emotional intelligence has made those around me feel uncomfortable with their skin color. I am not only talking about racist individuals who spew these narratives, but even some members of our own African American race have bought into this narrative and resort to bleaching their skin to be beautiful for society's sake. This has been a topic that I have been waiting to talk about and today it time to rise up from the dangerous cycle of self-hate.
