Matthew Teutsch, Instructor of English at Auburn University Considering last week’s demonstration in Virginia and the political “tap dancing” of the POTUS, the Black Reality Think Tank will discuss why we feel removing confederate statutes and flags won’t deter racism in America. Our discussion is centered around the scholarship and research of Dr. EE Thorpe, historian. Dr. Thorpe wrote a book entitle "The Old South a Psycho-History." Dr. Thorpe was a professor of history at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC and the former President of the research organization founded by the late Carter G. Woodson, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. The old south (Dixie) won’t change. Their legacy is rooted deep in American history.
