Karen and I had some BIG conversations about what it means to 'reject' the term "motherhood". Why at 6 weeks we are told that we are 'supposed to return back to ourself' because that's when we can have sex again. There is so much more wrapped up in becoming who are in this next chapter. Using sex as the defining measure of when we can 'be' back to 'normal' can set us up for so much disappointment.

We dive into the framework of resilience and the whole body. Karen describes the four bodies as mental, emotional, physical and spiritual and how when we only focus on one, we deplete the others. We dive into what it means to mother from depletion and self-sacrifice and why it is so important for us to regenerate.

We look at the evolution of 'supermom' and what it means to do it all without asking for help. And how for generations we have carried on the beliefs of our grandmothers. And why we need the awareness so we can change it and do it differently.

We as women need to stop trying to do it all like a man and trust in the way we were designed and tap into the divine feminine energy.

"In some ways, I reject the phrase "motherhood" because it comes with a whole set of expectations/assumptions that are unrealistic and unattainable. Delving into the framework of Motherhood can keep us from the framework of self. Does that make sense? I, as a women, am not motherhood - I am me and I have a personhood. Being a mom is just one aspect of my personhood."

I'm still growing up & still figuring it out. And happy to be doing so. After working 30 years'ish, I stepped into the next chapter...leaving conventional employment and doing my own thing. I consider myself, currently ('cause you know, evolution lol), a wellness facilitator and mentor to individuals, groups and organizations.
