Swell Direction: Southeast
Swell Period: 10 seconds
Wind: East at 11 mph
The surf in Montauk today is expected to be 3-4+ feet and sideshore choppy. This is due to a southeast swell with a 10-second period. The wind is expected to be out of the east at 11 mph, which will add to the chop.
The best spots to surf in Montauk today will likely be the more protected spots, such as Ditch Plains and Camp Hero. These spots will be less affected by the side-shore wind.
