Do you sometimes feel like you’re running a race on a never-ending hamster wheel, always trying to catch up on tasks at work and at home? Or maybe you’ve bought into the idea that multitasking is a good way to reach your goals and show your value at work.

In today’s episode, Anna talks about the myth of multitasking but also how to discern between productivity and busy-ness.

So, what's the difference between being busy and being productive? Being busy means that you are doing a lot of things while being productive means that you are achieving your goals. It's possible to be busy with little progress while being productive requires focus and efficiency.

Listen in as Anna explains:

  1. Why keeping your goals in view will help productivity
  2. The Pareto Principle and why a short list of focused tasks will bring maximum results
  3. How time blocking your calendar keeps you focused
  4. Why planning and reflection are such important steps toward reaching your goals
  5. Why deadlines and urgency can yield big results
  6. How to use the word NO as a complete sentence
Resources Mentioned in this Episode:
  • The One Thing by Gary Keller (book)
Journal Prompts:
  1. What are your goals and why are they important to you?
  2. What are your 20% activities?
  3. How do you control your calendar?
  4. How are you using your time each day to create maximum impact?

Quotes to Remember:

  • We can have it all but can’t do it all.
  • The bigger your goals, the more disciplined you need to be with your time.
  • The more time blocked you are, the more freedom you create.
  • We can’t manage time, only our behavior and how we choose to use our time.
