Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Richard Evans' book Listening to the Music the Machines Make: Inventing Electronic Pop 1978-1983 has been out for nearly two years and has just been released in paperback here in the States! We took that opportunity to have Mr. Evans back for a second interview in which we talk about the success of the book,.the journey of promoting it, Richard's picks of the 10 essential artists / albums / tracks that one needs to hear to understand the electronic pop genre, and a very surprising chat about Aphantasia, plus a whole lot more!
