Rural Mutual Insurance has created an affiliation with another in-state insurance provider. Dan Merck, Executive Vice President and CEO of Rural Mutual visits with Pam Jahnke about how the transaction came together. Merck says they've been in conversations with Badger Mutual Insurance since 2023 crafting the arrangement that allows both to operate independently, with financial security.

The National Pork Board is changing up its marketing, and shifting its messaging to focus on younger consumers, explains Nebraska farmer member Bill Luckey. He talks to Stephanie Hoff about why they're making the move. He says pork fits into a Millennial or Gen-Zer lifestyle by being convenient, affordable, and easy to cook. They'll be focused on that message on both Coast - but not the Midwest. That's why some farmers may not see their marketing - because they're not the audience target.

Wisconsin Farm Bureau is celebrating going over the 51,000 member mark this year. That's part of what their annual business conference will focus on this week.

Pam Jahnke visits with Jack Hubbard, CEO of Center for the Environment and Welfare. He says many advertisements showing puppies and kitties don't actually benefit the animals you're seeing. He suggests doing research from independent sources before you write that check.
