Episode 80-The Trash Bag Killer, The Freeway killer Caught (Patrick Kearney) Part 2 Series 2 of 3.
Welcome to episode 80 Patrick Kearney. This episode dives into the victims he claimed, the family members who humanize their family members, the victim responsible for Patrick Kearney’s demise. This episode also dives into the childhood of Patrick Kearney and sexual deviant compulsions. Patrick Kearney was born on September 24th, 1939. He is the oldest of 3 brothers. As a child Kearney was described as a small and scrawny child. This opened him up to getting severely bullied at school. He also fantasized about fighting back. They called him queer even though he was interested in girls at the school. He had a middle-class upbringing. A Stable family. When he was 8 years old, he had fantasies of killing anyone who bullied him and picturing them being skinned alive. He also displayed sexual fantasies because it made him feel powerful, in control, and dominating. He started to display these behaviors of bestiality at the age of 13 years old. His mother he says was caring but his father was a traveling salesman who worked a lot. Kearney said his father had no interest in raising a family which is why he avoided being home and always was at work. He did teach Kearney how to handle a gun and shoot it. He learned how to control dead animals. His father at the time was what you describe as a macho man. He worked, was a strong male, could control his feelings, and was the breadwinner of the family. These are qualities Kearney lacked. Kearney in his 20s joined the Airforce as an engineer in Texas. He returned to California following a brief marriage that ended in Divorce. He meets his lover, David Hill. He carried on an affair before divorcing his wife. For 9 years David Hill had no idea he was sleeping with the enemy, or did he? You decide. The victims are important people in this narrative. Their names matter. They should be celebrated. Serial Killers should never be glorified for committing heinous acts. We should do better at representing the victims’ stories and human characteristics while they were alive.
