To conclude season four of Teed Up hosts Matthew Gomez and Matthew Coleman are joined by Long Beach State Athletic Director Bobby Smitheran. In his third appearance on the show, Smitheran breaks down what he has seen from LBSU Athletics throughout the fall semester and his hopes for the program going into spring.
Smitheran’s latest move includes promoting women’s volleyball head coach Natalie Reagan and lifting the interim tag from her name. The trio also discusses the recent success of another new hire, head coach Chris Acker, who led the men’s basketball team to a three-game win streak.
With the recent news of Hawai’i and UC Davis leaving the Big West in the coming years, Smitheran gives his perspective on what this means for the conference going forward and the logistics that go into universities and the conference amid realignment.
