The Red Sox were shutout, 2-0, by the Toronto Blue Jays in the Series Finale at Fenway Park Thursday night. Sox went just 2-5 on their Homestand against the Diamondbacks and Blue Jays and are now on the road for their next 6 games. Sox streak of 76 straight games without being shutout ended on Thursday and it's the 6th time this season where the Sox were blanked. The Sox were held to just 2 hits singles on the night by Bowden Francis and 2 Toronto relievers.

On the Board 1st: The Blue Jays took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd Inning on a 2-out RBI Double from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The Jays with more 2-out magic again in the 6th with Addison Barger keeping the inning alive with a 2-out Double and he scored on a Double from Ernie Clement to make it 2-0.

Limited Offense: Red Sox did not have a hit and managed only 1 base runner over the 1st 5 Innings against Toronto's starting pitcher, Bowden Francis. Nick Sogard, promoted from Triple-A Worcester earlier in the day, reached with a 1-out Single in the 6th Inning. Francis came back and retired the next 2 hitters. He ended up going 7 scoreless and picked up his 4th straight win and 8th on the season.

Kutter Got the Nod: Kutter Crawford made the start in the Series Finale Thursday night. The right-hander allowed 2 runs over 6.2 Innings. He worked 2 1-2-3 Innings on the night. Crawford recorded 10 fly-ball outs and got 7 groundball outs. He left after giving up a 2-out walk to George Spring in the 7th.

#50's Final Line- 6.2 IP. 6 Hits. 2 R. 2 ER. 2 BB. 3 K. 0 HR Allowed. Crawford falls 8-12 on the season with the loss.

The Return of Hill: 44-year-old Rich Hill, who was added to the 40-man roster and active roster on Tuesday, was the 1st out of the Bullpen Thursday night. Hill left George Springer at 2nd-Base after striking out Dalton Varsho on a 70 MPH Sweeper. Hill worked a 1-2-3 8th and has now officially pitched in his 20th season in the Big Leagues.

Another Night of Rest: Rafael Devers was not in the starting lineup for the 3rd straight game as he deals with shoulder issues. Manager Alex Cora told the media Wednesday that Devers will return either Thursday for the finale against the Blue Jays or for the series opener in Detroit against the Tigers on Friday. The Sox are (8-7) when Devers has been held out of the starting lineup this season. He did miss 11 games back in March and April.

A Look Ahead: The Red Sox are on the road for the next 6 games and open up a 3-Game Series against the Detroit Tigers Friday night. Tanner Houck is set to go in the opener for the Red Sox. Tigers are TBA for their starting pitcher for Game 1 of the Series, but multiple reports indicate that it could be Casey Mize, who will oppose Houck. Tarik Skubal is slated to start against Nick Pivetta on Saturday.
