Becoming A Modern Leader with Sara Canaday
Manage episode 357627156 series 3342754
Are you willing to shake up the way you think, work, and lead? The relentless pace of business today is taking a serious toll on all of us. We might strive to be purpose-driven, impactful, and innovative, but we are often hijacked by never-ending to-do lists and constant crisis management. So, what is the solution? Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as throwing out the old rules and learning new ones. It’s about developing the insights to know when to follow conventional leadership wisdom and when to defy it. Today’s gal pal, Sara Canaday, is here to share some of those insights.
Sara Canaday is an author, keynote speaker, and executive coach. Her book, Leadership Unchained: Defy Conventional Wisdom for Breakthrough Performance, really got my attention. She says that traditional wisdom that molded leadership for years is losing its effectiveness in our chaotic, digitally overwhelmed world. In some cases, those principles may even be impeding your progress!
In this episode, we talk about:
- The issue with a bias for action
- How to create a stop-doing list
- How to evolve into a modern leader
- Navigating the brave new world of communication in leadership
